Dr Damian Teo is a holistic dentist who has focused his practice to TMD, Bruxism and Dental Sleep Medicine. Since graduating from dentistry at Latrobe University in 2012, Damian dived straight into a TMD and Dental Sleep Medicine clinic in Melbourne.

Damian is passionate about looking “beyond the mouth” and treating the body as a whole. He believes dentists play an important role in being able to recognise airway/breathing issues, sleeping problems, and craniofacial pain (such as headaches, neck pain, and TMD). Damian first gained deeper knowledge and understanding of TMD, craniofacial pain, sleep medicine, and airways by completing the TMD & Sleep mini residency program by Dr. Steven Olmos in 2013.

This led to Damian working in Darwin’s first official TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre in 2014, where he then focused his practice to treating patients for snoring, sleep apnea, bruxism and TMD. He pursued further education in the field of sleep medicine and achieved his Post Graduate Diploma in Dental Sleep Medicine with the University of Western Australia in 2016.

Over the years, Damian completed various mini-residency programs covering TMD, craniofacial pain, sleep medicine, orofacial myology and orthodontics with Dr Derek Mahony, Dr Jeffrey Okeson, Dr Tony Ancell and Dr Jamison Spencer.

Knowing the value in multidisciplinary treatment, Damian has also completed courses in biochemistry, nutrition, exercise biomechanics, neuro kinetic therapy, Buteyko breathing, mental health and well-being. He also works closely with many different health practitioners ranging from physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, acupuncturists, speech pathologists, sleep respiratory physicians, ENTs, oral surgeons and even personal trainers.

Damian’s passion for TMD and Sleep medicine led to the founding of his own specialised TMD and Sleep clinics: Melbourne Dental Sleep Clinic, consulting with TMJ physiotherapists in the Melbourne TMJ & Facial Pain Centre and Sleep Respiratory Physicians in Lung and Sleep Victoria.

Damian regularly lectures, and holds an annual TMD & Sleep Mini Residency, teaching practitioners from around the world, how to diagnose and manage TMD, OSA and bruxism. He is passionate in spreading the knowledge that dentists can help one’s health and quality of life “beyond the mouth.”

Darron Goralsky

TMJ Physiotherapist

Principal Physiotherapist & Clinical Director
Melbourne TMJ & Facial Pain Centre

Darron has 26 years’ experience treating TMJ disorder, face and neck related conditions. Darron Graduated as Physiotherapist in Johannesburg South Africa in 1993. His Postgraduate qualifications include a certification in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy as well as Craniosacral Therapy. Darron Immigrated to Melbourne in 1997 and has been in his own practice since 1998.

Darron’s initial exposure to the niche field of TMD highlighted to him that although many of these conditions had a very largely musculo-skeletal component, they were not being well managed by the physiotherapy and other manual therapy professions. Responsibility for management was however placed on the Dental profession alone.

Over the many years of his involvement in this field,  Darron began formulating his own approach and has attended many postgraduate courses, traveled internationally to spend time with leading TMJ experts and regularly attends local and international conferences on Temporomandibular Disorders and Oro-facial Pain. Darron realised the need for and benefits of including a physiotherapy type treatment approach for these conditions in a multidisciplinary environment.  Embracing the multidisciplinary model, Darron and Dr Damian Teo joined forces when Damian joined Darron’s clinical team in Jan 2019.

Darron is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), the Australian Branch of The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (AACP) and a member of the Australia New Zealand Academy of Orofacial Pain (ANZAOP), delivering a lecture at their 2019 Conference in Adelaide. He has also presented lectures to Dental Special Interest Groups, Physiotherapy Groups and to both Medical Practitioners and Dentists

Darron, alongside 3 other Dental Specialists, is a regular lecturer for the Melbourne Dental School on a full-day course for qualified Dentists on the Multidisciplinary Management Of TMD (Temporomandibular disorders).

As of 2020, Darron no longer consults directly with patients as he has dedicated his focus to ongoing training and mentoring his growing clinical team, all of whom he has personally trained in his approach.  Darron is also committed to continuously ensuring that his approach stays at the forefront of evidence based practice and he and his team are always furthering their knowledge and professional development though courses, workshops and conferences.

Nathan Wilkinson

Nathan is a caring and compassionate Holistic Bodyworker whose focus is on finding limitations within your system and guiding your body through resolving them. By getting your body involved in the treatment process more thorough and complete healing can occur, and problems are less likely to return.

While informed by a variety of bodywork approaches Nathan’s treatment style is all his own. He trained in Remedial Massage in 2012 and has added to this with training and experience in:

  • NeuroKinetic Therapy

  • Functional Neurology

  • Craniosacral Therapy

  • McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release

  • Visceral Manipulation

  • Lymphatic Drainage

  • Polyvagal Theory

  • Pain Science

  • Reiki

  • Chi Activation

Learning is a passion for Nathan, who is also a lifelong student of anatomy, so his list of skills continues to grow. Even one client to the next he is learning and evolving as a practitioner.

But a list of credentials means nothing without integration of each set of skills, and this is where Nathan’s breadth of knowledge and experience really shines. By developing a deep understanding of the concepts behind the technique he is able to adapt quickly and smoothly on-the-fly to ensure you receive the best treatment possible.

Nathan is always happy to explain what he’s doing and why, even with some of the more esoteric concepts of energy healing, and he can describe everything he does in structural, neurological or energetic language. Because as far as he’s concerned, they’re all the same thing!

Since 2019 Nathan has been a lead instructor for NeuroKinetic Therapy Seminars, and in early 2022 he became the sole Australian instructor, taking over from his teacher and mentor Dr Kathy Dooley. His love of educating has also led him to develop some of his own classes based around holistic evaluation and the integration of different treatment approaches, which he aims to start teaching more broadly in 2024.
